Well, I finally sent in my application for the MFA program at MICA. The degree is a Masters of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
I should find out if I get in sometime around April 1st. For the application I had to submit a portfolio of 20 images, an essay, a resume and the application. I also had to get three letters of recommendation and the transcripts from my undergrad program sent over. Oh, and there was a $50 application fee.
So now I just have to wait, and wait. The program is two years of full time school. Though the classes are basically broken down like this:
You take a seminar each semester that meets once a week, and you are working on your thesis each semester and then you also have to take 12 credits (4 classes) of graduate liberal arts.
I went to visit the school a while back and it all looks very good to me. So, I am really excited. Now I just have to figure out how to pay for it. The tuition is about $30,000 per year. So, there is financial aid, which I will apply for, and grants and scholarships on top of that. Classes begin in the Fall.
