In case you haven't noticed, I have published a new blog section called MFA Thesis. This will be a place where I will document the process of creating my thesis installation for my MFA at MICA. I plan to post scans of my notebook and drawings and as well you can view all of the source code for this project at the repository on GitHub. This art project will be completely open source! Now i just need to make it.
Additionally, I am now using a Wordpress for Joomla plugin that will allow me to be a better blogger and to create more sections on this site in the future. Please bear with me as I move all of the current blog content over to the new system.

Bolt Bus BlogginPosted by: Micah Walter in News |
Believe it or not, but I'm actually blogging over the free Wifi on the BoltBus. The connection is decent, although this return trip doesn't have power outlets. I know I haven't blogged here in a while, but I have been really busy, running around like a chicken trying to find its head.
So while we await "more" I will leave you with this: I'm searching for tweets. I was previously searching flickr for images, and now I'm searching for tweets. Maybe my new "status message" should be "searching."
Incidentally, did you know that if you type the word "google" into Google, you can break the Internet?
Here is my first tweet search - more to come. - http://search.twitter.com/search?q=sleep

Dave Brubeck Rocks The SoHo Apple StorePosted by: Micah Walter in News Tagged in: photojournalism , photography , panasonic , nyc , news , music , lx3 , journalism , fun , freelancing , flickr , black and white , art , apple

Last night, at the Apple Store in SoHo, I experienced what can only be described as a “wonderful treat.” About a week ago I had been perusing the SoHo store’s website, looking for information on dropping off a broken MacBook. Eventually I found what I was looking for, but towards the bottom of the page I also noticed a very recognizable image. It was the album art of one of my all time favorite albums, Time Out, by Dave Brubeck.
Reading on, I realized that the Apple Store in SoHo would be hosting a special event in which Dave Brubeck himself, along with the members of his current quartet would be making an appearance. I first thought, well this is cool… even if he doesn’t perform; it would be great to see him. So I did my homework and decided to cover the event for MacCreate.com.
Upon my arrival at the Apple store, I began an evening of surprises and win-falls that I like to describe as “everything’s coming up Micah.” It had turned out that my MacBook was ready on the same evening, so I would only have to make the one trip back to the store (yeah right, I’ll probably be back again next week). Not only was the laptop ready, but also Apple decided to pay for the parts, and so instead of my repair bill coming to $180 it was only $15. Thanks Apple!

In case you have been wondering... I've been a little bit busy. I do apologize fore the lack of recent blog posts, and I plan to get back on the ball here over the next few days. Fortunately, for me, the main reason I haven't been able to post much has been... I've been working!
I recently acquired a new client, and have been hard at work on a number of other projects that have taken up most of my time. But, it has been fun.
So stay tuned for a few new articles coming in the next few days. Part II of "My Virtual Office" is nearly finished, and I will have a follow up essay about the new Olympus EP-1 coming as well.
Thanks for all your patience!
